A: ODM samples typically take 7-10 days, with mass production in 15-30 days. OEM requires additional mold development time, so the total cycle is typically 2-3 months
Q7: If I only change the logo, color and packaging, is that OEM or ODM?
A: That is ODM. As long as the product design comes from the factory (you did not provide your own design files), even with logo,color and packaging changes, it is essentially ODM.
Q8: If I pay for a private mold (my own mold), is that OEM or ODM?
A: That is OEM. A private mold means the design and design patent belong to the brand, and the product is unique to you. This is the core feature of OEM.
Q9: What is the price difference between OEM and ODM?
A: ODM prices are lower because the factory has already invested in the molds. OEM requires the buyer/brand owner to pay for mold development.
Q10: Can I start with ODM for fast market entry and switch to OEM with a private mold later?
